One of the most difficult skills to master as a teacher is classroom management. Unfortunately, if you can not master this skill you are not going to survive as a teacher, especially as a middle school teacher.

Seek each student out while they participate in activities outside the classroom and let them know you are there and encourage them in what they are doing.

Ever since I have decided to pursue a career in project management, it was an exciting growth path in becoming professional and competent in my job. I realized that the qualities and skills required was a good fit for my natural strengths and acquired skills.

I know this sounds simple but you need to carry some kind of schedule around with you and USE it. This could be in your phone, using something like Google calendar, etc. It does not matter what you use for keeping your schedule, just be sure to use something. Put everything you have in there, classes, work, sports practices, even schedule when you plan to hang out with friends and when you plan to do homework. It doesn’t matter what it is, just make sure it is in your calendar and you commit to doing the work when you say you are going to.

The danger is that it’s so easy for teachers (or parents) to think at this point that they’re getting nowhere and the strategies aren’t working, but they are. You have to Edulabs be consistent and persistent!

Critical thinking is more than just doing comparison shopping at the store. Students deserve the opportunity to gather information and arrive at their own conclusion – even if it’s wrong. Did the light bulb get invented on the first attempt? Not at all. Leaning cannot be homogenized even though it seems that what high stakes testing is based upon. Every idea and effort contributes to arrive at a useful conclusion and I ring that bell every day.

You may even start seeing ways to get more than one thing done at the same time, “multitasking”. Making a conscious decision to fit certain things into your routine and figuring out how you will do that routine is other known as time management. Even something as basic as your method of transportation can impact how you organize your time. Simple things such as riding the bus to school or work might give a few extra minutes for studying or reading. However, to improve your chances of making it from one place to another more quickly, you might drive your car.

Opt to purchase items such as fruits and vegetables when they are in season. There are tons of farmer’s markets offering their produce at great prices. It is always wise to shop around for the best prices. Set your long-term goal realistically and reward yourself sporadically. You do not want to burn yourself out eventually over a period. Treat yourself to eating out once a week or buying a dessert that you truly enjoy. Times are tough when you are trying to figure out how to make money for school, but with discipline and dedication to cash management, you will find it easier than most people realize.
