A catalytic converter converts exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine into less-polluting pollutants to catalyze an organic reduction reaction. For example, when an internal combustion engine burns gasoline, some gases pass through the exhaust pipes and combine with oxygen in the exhaust gases, thus creating the pollution called gaseous emissions. Many gases escape from the engine through the exhaust outlets. These gases are called particulate emission. These particulates are filtered out by the catalytic conversion so they don’t escape into air.
The catalytic conversion can burn many kinds of gaseous omissions. They include hydrocarbons and CO, as well as nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide. While palladium can remove pollutants very well, it is also more costly to produce than platinum. A new catalytic converter is required for your car. It must be made from platinum as it is the only metal to completely release its energy when exposed.
