Finding your first nursing job may take a little time. Before you begin your job search, you should have a plan. Do you want nursing to be a career or just a job? Answering that question may help you define your plan. If you have a goal in place, even before attending nursing school, it will create the career path and stepping stones for you. If your goal is just to have a job, your job search will be easier. If your ultimate goal is to be a nursing administrator or to teach, you will need education beyond a Bachelor of Science degree, a certain amount of years experience and some in a supervisory capacity.

So for 25 years, each day was spent getting up and “putting on my nurse’s hat” dragging myself to work, playing the role of a nurse for 12 hours, then dragging my tired bones home, only to repeat that scenario three more times each week, month after month, year after year.

CNA program: This is the first step toward your goal of becoming a certified nurse. You have to enroll for a program that lasts anywhere from two to six weeks. You could choose full time or part-time classes.

Do not do it. You heard correct. When the aid, worker or doctor instructs you to go to the certified nurse aid station with the problem, do not do it. Well, you can go there, and find out which nurse or staff member is in charge of that particular issue or problem that you wish to speak about , for example, food, or clothing or medicine. Over the years I have been a waitress, a nurse’s aid, a travel agent, a telemarketer, a cashier, a switchboard operator, a factory worker and a cemetery worker and a I must say that I didn’t always appreciate where I was at the time.
