You’re trying hard, so very hard, to get ahead and reach your goals and yet there seems to be no end to the hurdles and roadblocks along the way… So it’s important that you realize that no one can stop you – unless you give up. When your motivation starts to flag, just stop and think about the dream lifestyle you’re fighting for and why it’s so important to you.
Make short term goals for sales motivation – short-term goals are higher on perspective; you can concentrate more and create more planned avenues. Once there is method, there will have motivation and you will make a decent job of the sale process.
If what you want to achieve is important to you and you don’t feel motivated, just do it anyway without feeling motivated! Make the decision to do it. Yes this might take an act of will, discipline and determination. Yes it might be unpleasant, require a commitment and you might even have to give up something else. Yet you do it because you know the end result, your goal and that is more important than whether you feel motivated or not. The problem is that most people focus on what they have to give up rather than focussing on the long term gain.
My friend left the table to visit the restroom, and I was left alone with my thoughts about our intense discussion. Had I really “heard” the message correctly in my own heart or mind? I thought I’d given my friend the product of real watch my streams – the kind of Heaven-sent message I believe all of us have available to us all the time but are usually deaf to hearing – but had I, really? Had I given her a good idea, or a disastrous one? Would following my advice needlessly cost her a lot of money? Was hers a problem that would, as her other friends had suggested, be better solved by tough-mindedness than by extraordinary generosity?
For example, when you see a video clip of a destination holiday on the television, you are drawn and motivated to get to that specific destination. This is usually what marketers or advertisers try to do when they lure to you to buy their products. When you make an effort to find the resources to get you to the holiday destination, you are driven by a T motivation.
The other day I shared with a fellow entrepreneur (she’s also a friend and a proven inspirational leader) a powerful experience which served as an example of all these inspirational elements at work, in concert with one another. It was scheduled as a simple breakfast meeting, during which we were to discuss details of an ambitious project which will be a joint venture of our two firms. An hour, maybe ninety minutes. And while we did spend a good 45 minutes at the end of the meeting taking good care of our project business, the discussion lasted almost three-and-a-half hours and was dominated by contemplation of a difficult personal situation in which my friend finds herself.
As you search for inspiration, you can embrace all three levels. When you are looking for a particular level, now you’ll have a sense of how to create the right conditions.
